June 23, 2008 Demand for the dollar was dramatically higher in the Iraqi Central Bank's auction on Monday, reaching $86.175 million compared to $36.800 million on Sunday. "The demand hit $20.450 million in cash and $66.130 million in foreign transfers outside the country, all covered by the bank at an exchange rate of 1,196 Iraqi dinars per dollar," according to the central bank's daily bulletin, which was received by Aswat al-Iraq - Voices of Iraq - (VOI).
