| 2008: Dollar demand lower at CBI auction |

September 21, 2008 Demand for the dollar was down in the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) auction on Sunday, registering at $ 60.660 million compared to $ 78.460 million the last session. "The demand hit $17.420 million in cash and $ 43.240 million in foreign transfers outside the country, all covered by the bank at a stable exchange rate of 1,180 Iraqi dinars per dollar, unchanged for the sixth consecutive session," an official source from the bank told Aswat al-Iraq – Voices of Iraq – (VOI).
