| 2008: Iraqi Executive Council Discusses the Need for Passing the Iraqi Oil and Gas Draft Law |

June 11, 2008 The Iraqi Executive Council convened in Baghdad on Wednesday to discuss Iraq’s developments. The Iraqi president , Jalal Talabani and both his deputies , Tariq al Hashimi and Adil Abdul Mahdi as well a s the Iraqi premier Nouri al-Maliki attended the meeting, where the Iraqi PM talked about his recent visit to Iran ,describing it as successful. The latest developments of the ongoing Iraqi-US negotiations to establish strategic relations between both the states, accelerating effort made for the return of the Iraqi accordance front to the Iraqi government were discussed during the meeting as well. The council also discussed the need for passing the Iraqi oil and gas draft law in the Iraqi Council of Representatives. |
