| 2008: Japan to Hold Conference about Investment in Kurdistan Region in Amman |

June 24, 2008 It is expected that the Japanese government to hold a conference about investment in the Kurdistan region in the Jordanian capital of Amman July the 2nd to encourage its companies to invest in the region. “This is the first step by the Japanese government to familiarize the investment opportunities in the Kurdistani region .As far as I am aware, more than 50 companies has expressed their readiness to invest in Kurdistan region,” Hersh Muharam head of the Investment Committee in the Kurdistan Region told PUKmedia today. “During my visit to Baghdad, I met with the Japanese ambassador to Iraq who officially invited the Investment Committee in the Kurdistan Region to attend the conference. A delegation from the Investment Committee in the Kurdistan Region will attend the conference,” he added. He also said that he briefed the Japanese ambassador to Baghdad the importance of holding a conference about investment Kurdistan region and invited to visit the Kurdistan region, who promised to visit the Kurdistan region soon along with several Japanese companies.
